Raised in Texas, Michael received a BFA in art history from U.T. Austin and moved to New York in 1996 to obtain an MFA from Hunter College. He was an artist in residence at New York’s Cooper Union in 2005 and was awarded a fellowship in 2008 to the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Studio.  He currently lives and works in Brooklyn and teaches in New Jersey.
